On Sunday, June 16, 2019, Father’s Day, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, presided over Divine Liturgy and delivered his message at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood. Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian.
In keeping with a longstanding tradition, during the service the parish honored two exemplary fathers in the community, Onnig Berberian and Gary Daglian.
The Prelate centered his sermon on the day’s commemoration of the prophet Elijah, at the conclusion of which he blessed and congratulated all the fathers and highlighted the virtues of exemplary fathers who teach their children faith and work ethic through example and serve as a positive influence and an inspiration to their families.
Following the sermon, Fr. Vicken lauded the contributions of the honorees to the community, Mr. Berberian’s support of St. Garabed Church, Rose and Alex Pilibos School, and as Chair of the Homenetmen Los Angeles chapter, and Mr. Daglian’s support of St. Garabed Church.
On behalf of the parish, the Prelate presented plaques to the honorees. He was joined by Board of Trustees Chair Mardig Bouldoukian and member Madeleine Ashdjian.
