Prelate Receives Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan

H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, met with Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, on November 17, 2021, at Western Prelacy headquarters. Representatives of the Armenian National Committee of America Western Region (ANCA-WR) accompanied Tatoyan; Executive Council Secretary George Chorbajian also attended.

Tatoyan detailed the current situation in the border regions of Armenia, the recent capture of Armenian soldiers by Azerbaijan, and his interaction with the families of victims. He also addressed the humanitarian, social and psychological condition of Armenian citizens, pursuant to the 44-day war, and stressed that the Diaspora has a great role in mitigating their plight by providing psychological and moral support.

The Prelate praised Tatoyan’s humanitarian, Christian and patriotic service and stressed that the Armenian Church has always been a vehement defender of human rights, pointing to Jesus Christ who remains the foremost human rights defender.

The meeting concluded on a hopeful note that the Armenian nation and the Diaspora would soon be able to overcome the unbearable pain and psychological anguish related to the war casualties and losses, and be able to fully rehabilitate the youngest of citizens and return to normalcy shortly.
