Prelate Visits Armenian Embassy in Washington D.C.

On Monday, July 15, 2019, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and H.E. Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate of the Eastern U.S., paid a visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Washington D.C. to meet with Armenia’s National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, who was in town on an official visit. Participating in the meeting were Ambassador Varuzhan Nersesyan and Lilit Makunts, member of Parliament and head of the My Step alliance. The Prelates were joined by Holy Cross Church pastor Rev. Fr. Sarkis Aktavoukian and Catholicosate Central Executive member Dr. Dertad Manguikian.

The Prelates welcomed Mr. Mirzoyan and affirmed their solidarity to Armenia’s advancement. Given that it was Archbishop Mardirossian’s first visit to the Embassy since Ambassador Nersesyan’s appointment, he formally welcomed him and once again wished him success in his tenure.

In light of the untimely passing of former Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Arman Kirakossian on July 6, the Prelates expressed their sympathies and together with Dr. Manguikian recorded their condolences in the memorial guestbook.
