Prelate Visits Mesrobian School

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 17, 2015, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, continued his 2015-2015 school year visits at Mesrobian School in Montebello. His Eminence was greeted by the Holy Cross Cathedral Dean, Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian, Pastor, Rev. Fr. Ashod Kambourian, Board of Trustees members, Principal Mr. David Ghoogasian, Tro Gomide representatives, faculty and students.

The Prelate first conducted the blessing of salt and bread, after which students from the fifth to the twelfth grades presented a cultural program. At the conclusion of the program, the Principal invited the Prelate to deliver his message. His Eminence greeted the school family and commended the enthusiasm of the students at the beginning of a new school year. Reiterating a prayer the students had offered at A.G. Minassian School in the morning, the Prelate wished the students enlightened minds and goodness in their hearts, good health to the parents, and patience for the teachers. He also commended the students for the beautiful program they had prepared, stating that their songs, recitations, and prayers are a fitting tribute on this 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The program concluded with the singing of “Cilicia” and the Armenian national anthem by the students.

The Prelate then visited the young students of Ron and Koharig Gabriel Pre-School and the first to fourth grade classes. He blessed the students and teachers and presented prayer cards as mementos for a blessed school year. The visit concluded with a luncheon.
