On Wednesday, October 9, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, welcomed the Honorable Johnny Ibrahim, Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles, to the Prelacy. Executive Council member Mr. Vahan Bezdikian participated in the meeting.
The Consul General had come to officially invite the Prelate to a meeting reception the Consulate is hosting on December 4, in which Lebanese-Armenian community leaders will participate.
The Prelate took this opportunity to personally invite the Consul General to the New Year and Christmas Dinner which is held annually on January 6.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss conditions in Lebanon, which concern the Armenian community as well. In addition, the Consul General reported on the current state of affairs in Lebanon, which often bears the consequences of regional instability, while the Prelate and Mr. Bezdikian elaborated on the Prelacy’s service to the community. The strong ties between the Prelacy and the Lebanese Consulate General and of the two communities was commended, and the visit concluded with an assurance to maintain and reinforce those ties.
