Prelate Welcomes Outstanding Armenian High School Graduates from Glendale and Los Angeles School Districts

On Friday, August 12, 2016, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, received a special visit from outstanding Armenian graduates from Glendale and LAUSD high schools. The graduates, accompanied by CASPS Co-Chair Mrs. Media Kalognomos, member Mrs. Armineh Bazikian, and parents, had come to receive the Prelate’s blessings and well wishes as they prepare to continue their education at some of the nation’s top universities. Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian joined in the meeting.

Following introductions, the conversation centered on the students’ future educational and career plans and how they plan on giving back to their local communities as well as to the Armenian-American community. The Prelate congratulated and commended the students on their achievements, wished them continued successes, and encouraged them to maintain their ties with the Armenian Church and community. His Eminence also commended the devoted service of the members of CASPS, stating “the mission of CASPS is not only to provide assistance to Armenian students in public schools; their mission is one of fostering Armenian identity in our students who are the future of our nation”.

The students in return conveyed their thanks for the visit and their appreciation for the Prelacy’s and Prelate’s care and interest in them and in their future.

The Prelate presented the graduates with copies of his book “A Collection of Spiritual Reflections,” as well as mementos in recognition of their achievements, after which a brief prayer service was held at the “St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen” Chapel.
