Prelate Welcomes SARF Governing Board

On September 13, 2016, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, welcomed members of the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund Governing Board. Executive Council Chair Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian joined in the meeting.

The Board, headed by newly appointed Chair Mr. Raffi Kendirjian, had come to report on the organization’s latest projects and achievements and to receive the Prelate’s blessings for future endeavors. The visit afforded the opportunity to discuss the current state of the Armenian communities in Syria and in Aleppo especially. Thanks to the efforts of SARF and fundraising in various Diaspora communities worldwide, vital aid has reached Syria and just recently it was announced all students of Prelacy Schools will receive tuition-free education in the 2016-2017 academic year.

The Prelate commended the dedicated service of SARF, which for over four years has been working toward a worthy cause in the spirit of unity and collaboration, and wished them continued drive and successes in their vital mission, while hoping for the imminent end of the conflict.
