Reception in Celebration of Armenian Independence Day – Meet and Greet with Ambassador Tigran Sargsyan


On the evening of Tuesday, September 30, 2014, a reception in celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia was held at the Glendale Hilton, hosted by Consul General of Armenia and Mrs. Sergey Sarkisov and with the participation of newly appointed Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Tigran Sargsyan. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended the reception, accompanied by Executive Council Chair Mr. Vahe Hovagumian, Vice-Chair Dr. Dikran Babikian, and Treasurer Mr. Meher Der Ohanessian. His Eminence greeted the guests and saluted Ambassador Sargsyan on his first visit to Los Angeles. He congratulated the anniversary of Armenia’s independence and prayed for the Lord to safeguard our homeland, to bless our leaders with wisdom and foresight to lead justly and with integrity, to grant strength to our soldiers, to bless all those who serve for the advancement of our nation, and for love and unity among the Armenian people.

Earlier in the day, the Consulate General of Armenia in Glendale hosted a meet and greet with Ambassador Sargsyan. Clergy and community leaders had a dialogue with the Ambassador on US-Armenia relations, the state of affairs in Armenia, and President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent address at the United Nations. The Prelate attended the meeting, accompanied by Executive Council Vice-Chair Dr. Dikran Babikian.
