On Friday, February 14, 2020, the Armenian Apostolic Church will observe the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord to the Temple.
The Feast will be celebrated in Prelacy Churches on the evening of Thursday, February 13. Parents will have the opportunity to present their infants and young children to the Church in the example of the baby Jesus, for pastors to bless them before the altar. Following the service, faithful will gather in the courtyards of their respective churches for the lighting of the traditional bonfire, around which traditional and patriotic songs will be sung.
In keeping with tradition, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will preside over the service and deliver his message at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale. Homenetmen members and scouts will participate in the service, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
Afterward, the Prelate, Clergy, Executive Council and Homenetmen members will gather at “Armenak Der Bedrossian” Hall for the traditional dinner reception.
