On Saturday, August 21, 2021, a seminar-competition for Sunday School teachers was held at the Prelacy “Dikran & Zarouhie Der Ghazarian” Hall under the auspices of H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, and organized by the Sunday Schools’ Directorate.
The seminar began with a prayer service, which was followed by the Sunday School anthem. Raffi Torossian delivered welcoming remarks, after which Hagop Tchagaspanian conveyed pertinent information regarding the re-opening of Sunday Schools. Sossie Gureghian introduced the day’s keynote speaker, Marriage and Family Therapist Nora Chitilian. Ms. Chitilian spoke on how students will be able to return to normalcy and adapt following months of constraints and impediments due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and gave hope and encouragement to the participants that they will overcome these challenging and uneasy times. A question and answer session followed the presentation.
On behalf of the Prelate, Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian commended Ms. Chitilian and presented her with a memento as a token of appreciation. Following a lunch break, a competition was held wherein the teachers were divided into four groups, bearing the names of the four evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John), to answer over 100 questions on topics such as the Holy Bible, prayers, golden sayings, hymns, and feasts. The winning group, as well as all participants, received souvenirs.
Fr. Muron conveyed the Prelate’s congratulations to the winning group and highly commended all the participants and the vast knowledge they have amassed. The productive and memorable gathering came to a close in the afternoon.
