On Friday, February 9, 2018, Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Pre-School celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala held at Vertigo Event Venue in Glendale. On behalf of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, Very Rev. Fr. Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, attended and read the Prelate’s message. Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan, parish pastor of St. Sarkis Church, was also in attendance and delivered the invocation.
The program featured remarks on behalf of the School Board, Board of Regents, and alumni, as well as a video presentation. Director Mrs. Garine Joukadarian delivered her message, after which Fr. Torkom read the Prelate’s message and delivered the benediction.
In his message, His Eminence lauded the vision of the founders who, cognizant of the great value of the Armenian School, set the foundation for the establishment of Tavlian Pre-School with the support of sponsors and in particular the Tavlian benefactor family. He commended the growth and advancement the school has undergone in the past quarter century, under the auspices of St. Sarkis Church and thanks to the devoted service of subsequent directors and faculty members who ingrain our faith and identity in our children. The Prelate concluded his message by blessing the memory of the founders who are in eternal rest, commending past and present directors, faculty, parents, and sponsors, and praying for God’s blessings and protection upon the school family and to lead them to new heights in their service.
