Tavlian Pre-School Students Visit the Prelacy


On Thursday, April 6, 2017, the young students of Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Pre-School visited the Prelacy where they participated in a prayer and had a friendly meeting with H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, who was joined by Very Rev. Fr. Torkom Donoyan and Very Rev. Fr. Vache Balekjian.

The students, accompanied by Director Mrs. Garin Joukadarian, teachers, and parents, first gathered at “St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen” Chapel where they sang the Lord’s Prayer and listened to a hymn from Sunrise Service sung by the Prelate and clergy.

The visit continued at “Dikran and Zarouhie Der Ghazarian” Hall where the students presented a cultural program. Accompanied on the piano by their music teacher Mrs. Suzy Pashaian, the students first sang the American and Armenian national anthems, and continued with recitations and Easter songs. On behalf of the School family, Mrs. Joukadarian thanked the Prelate for the warm welcome.

In his message, the Prelate reminded the students to always be good children, good students, and good Armenians, and to be thankful to their parents, teachers, and especially to God for His abundant blessings. A question and answer session followed during which the students learned more about Holy Week and Easter. In conclusion, His Eminence commended the student’s beautiful performance and prayed that God continue to bless them with gifts and talents. He commended also the Director and faculty and urged them to continue their important mission with the same drive and commitment.

The students presented an Easter basket to the Prelate containing hand-painted eggs and adorned with drawings.
