On Thursday, June 23, 2022, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian, paid an official visit to the ARS Western Region center. ARS Central Executive member Mrs. Arousiag Melkonian, and former members of the Central and Regional Executive Boards, Chairperson of the ARS Regional Executive Mrs. Silva Poladian and members, Board members of various chapters, benefactors and guests were in attendance.
On the occasion of his first official visit to the ARS center, Bishop Donoyan delivered a special prayer and at the same time blessed the memorial wall of the donors of the ARS center, where the names of all those benefactors who had made contributions for the benefit of the various projects of the Regional Executive were placed during the past five years.
In his speech, the Prelate stressed that the ARS is the “Good Samaritan” of the Bible in the life of the Armenian people, always administering and extending a helping hand to the needy, the deprived, the bereaved, being the mother to the motherless and a sister to all who missed the sisters caring.
Highly commending the voluntary service of the ARS, on behalf of the Western Prelacy, Bishop Donoyan was pleased to contribute towards the endeavors of the ARS by pledging ten thousand dollars. Mr. Mike Sarian in turn donated ten thousand dollars to the ARS, wishing green pastures to the Armenian Relief Society.
Inspired by this highly encouraging atmosphere, the ARS Regional Executive’s Gala-Dinner benefactors, Mr. & Mrs. Jack and Zarig Yuredjian, pledged a generous new donation of one hundred thousand dollars towards the ARS Western Regional’s various activities.
The Prelate praised the current benefactors and service-loving and hardworking ARS members, toured the Center’s offices, familiarizing himself with the efforts and accomplishments of the center. The evening concluded by singing of the ARS anthem, followed by “Giligia” and the Prelate’s benediction.
