On Friday, October 28, 2022, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, presided over the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church 59th anniversary dinner at the “Khatoun Saryan” courtyard. The dinner was hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Mike and Evelina Sarian. In attendance were Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian, Pastor of Holy Martyrs Armenian Church, Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian, Chair of the Prelacy Executive Council, and his wife Hasmig, members of the Board of Trustees, representatives of community organizations, donors and guests.
Special remarks were delivered by Fr. Khatchadourian and Mr. Hovig Bedevian, Chair of the Board of Trustees, who reflected upon the importance and special role the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church plays within the community.
In his speech, the Prelate reflected upon the words of Vahan Tekeyan, stating; “I loved, but none of my loved ones knew how much I loved them,” and continued, “Today, love radiates from the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church to all past and present Armenians, Armenian associations, previous and present leaders of the homeland, and we all know very well that the Armenian church is an inviolable truth in the life of the Armenian people, because it represents our utmost faith, hope and future of our nation and provides us with such inexhaustible love that Christ Himself taught to all peoples.”
Bishop Donoyan thanked the attendees and highly commended the host of the dinner for their continuous support, stating; “The wealthy with their sponsorship, the intellectual with their pens, the administrative with their time and effort are considered benefactors of the nation and the church, especially when they donate with love, because with their unconditional service and support, they achieve new successes both in humanitarianism and church enlightenment.”
Mr. Sarian delivered his remarks by thanking the Prelate, the Pastor and Board of Trustees, and reflected upon the sweet memories he lived when serving the Holy Martyrs Church and community.
Merujan Margarian (violin), Andranik Aliemezian (Saxophone) and singer Hovhannes Balyan took part in the artistic program, which enlightened the event. The evening concluded by the Prelate’s benediction.
