The Prelate Presided over the Last Morning Service at Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Encino

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, presided over the final Lenten morning service at Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Encino. Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian assisted in the service. The service was attended by representatives of the Executive Board, regional delegates, the Principal of Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School, graduating students and parishioners.

The Prelate commenced his message by stating; “Together we performed the final Lenten morning service, and through the prayers and hymns, we beseeched the Lord to raise His Son, Jesus Christ, as the sun rises over our lives,” noting that Christ is the sunshine of our spiritual life, and we will soon celebrate Jesus’ last days on earth, through Holy Week.

Bishop Donoyan explained to the students in a comprehensible way the redemptive purpose of the Son of God, emphasizing that each person carries a part of God, the most obvious manifestation of which is the basic need to love and be loved as a human being, simply because “God is Love,” and this world and our human lives are the mirror of God’s love. “The greatest gift of God to man is the crucified and resurrected Christ, whom God sent from heaven to save man from his sin and return him to God” the Prelate stressed.

The Prelate was also present during the luncheon prepared by the Ladies guild, during which Mr. Kevork Bedigian delivered a constructive speech.
