Very Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian Arrives in Los Angeles to Begin Studies at Fuller Seminary

 

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, Very Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, a new member of the Catholicosate Brotherhood, arrived in Los Angeles where by the ordinance of H.H. Catholicos Aram I, he will begin studies at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena for a Master’s Degree in Theology.

On Thursday, August 29, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, met with Fr. Boghos to welcome him to the United States and to discuss his service within the Prelacy during his time here.  On his spare time, Fr. Boghos will celebrate Divine Liturgy in various churches and will assist the Christian Education department.

Fr. Boghos was born in 1990 in Aleppo, Syria, where he received his primary education at Mekhitarian School.  From 2003-2011 he attended the Seminary of the Catholicosate of Cilicia.  Upon completion of his studies he was ordained a celibate priest by Seminary Dean H.E. Archbishop Nareg Alemezian in 2011.  Fr. Boghos has taught liturgical music and Christian ethics within the Seminary, was the assistant librarian at the Catholicosate Library, and during the last academic year was a member of the administration at the Seminary.

We welcome Fr. Boghos to Los Angeles and wish him success in his studies at Fuller Seminary and in his service within the Prelacy.
