As previously reported, on Monday, October 7, 2019, two young members of the Brotherhood, Very Rev. Fr. Smpad Saboundjian and Very Rev. Fr. Ashod Khachadourian arrived at the Western Prelacy to begin their new assignments as parish pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in San Francisco and of Holy Trinity Church in Fresno respectively.
They will celebrate their first Divine Liturgy at their new parishes on Sunday, October 20.
On Wednesday, October 16 and Thursday, October 17, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, traveled to San Francisco and Fresno to introduce the new pastors to their parishes. Receptions were held presided by the Prelate and with the participation of outgoing pastors, Very Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian and Very Rev Fr. Dajad Ashekian, Executive Council members, Delegates, Boards of Trustees, and community representatives, who conveyed welcoming and farewell remarks. The Prelate commended and blessed the outgoing pastors and wished a fruitful tenure to the new pastors, both of whom pledge their devoted service.
Fr. Barouyr and Fr. Dajad will return to Antelias at the end of the month to assume their new duties at the Catholicosate.
We wish Fr. Smpad and Fr. Ashod success in their new mission and Fr. Barouyr and Fr. Dajad a safe return to Antelias and success in their new responsibilities.
