By the blessing of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, and under auspices of H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, and the coordination of the Western Prelacy Joint Assembly, appointed Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian as the Dean of St. Mary’s Armenian Church in Glendale.
Fr. Zareh arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. With the duties as Dean, he will bring his service at the Prelacy day schools and the Christian Education Department.
On this occasion, the Prelate and the Joint Assembly wish success and fruitful service to Fr. Zareh, who with his upbringing and experience will contribute to the flourishing of the Armenian and Christian life of our people, students and the enlightenment of the Church.

Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, on March 31, 1991. He graduated from the Armenian Theological Seminary and was ordained as a celibate priest on June 17, 2012. He had the privilege of studying in the Ecumenical Institute at Chateau de Bossey in Switzerland and later earned his Th.M. degree from Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA. Afterwards, on his return to Lebanon, he attended several academic courses in Biblical Greek and Hebrew at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut.
Upon his return to Beirut, Fr. Zareh assumed various responsibilities, primarily the position of the Director of the Christian Education Department at the Catholicosate in Antelias.
