On the evening of Friday, February 27, 2015, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, presided over Lenten vigil service at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale, after which His Eminence paid a visit to the Armenian Ecclesiastical Brotherhood center in Glendale where he conducted vigil service and conveyed his Lenten message to the members. The Prelate was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian and Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian.
Chairman Brother Avo Kabakjouzian welcomed the clergy and members, and then invited His Eminence to begin the vigil service. Young members of the Brotherhood recited “I Confess with Faith” by St. Nerses the Graceful, and at the conclusion of the service presented a beautiful program of religious songs.
The Prelate was then invited to deliver his message, which he began by praying for the souls of departed Brotherhood members, in particular Brother Arshag Kalenderian who passed away three years ago on the first day of Lent.

His Eminence stated that the Lenten journey is a time when we must beseech the Lord to help us turn from our transgressions and turn to goodness so that we may inspire others by our example; it is a time to focus on comprehending our purpose and be ready to give account of our actions. In conclusion, the Prelate commended and blessed the board members for their dedicated service and wished for them to lead their members by example and to inspire the younger generations especially.
Following the program, clergy and Brotherhood members enjoyed a Lenten meal together, during which a conversation ensued on the 100th anniversary of the Genocide and the upcoming canonization of martyrs. The Prelate presented a sacred painting of the crucifixion of Christ for the center, and provided copies of a Jacques Hagopian book to all those present.
