SPECIAL SERVICES ON THE EVE OF THE FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF OUR LORD
On Sunday, February 14, the Armenian Church will celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord to the Temple. The eve of the feast will be celebrated on Saturday, February 13, within Prelacy Churches with a special service and the traditional bonfire lighting. Parents will also have the opportunity to present their children for blessing before the altar.
In keeping with tradition, the Prelate will conduct the service at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale, with the participation of Homenetmen leadership, members, and scouts. The service begins at 6:30.
Afterward, clergy and faithful will gather at the church courtyard to light the bonfire, around which patriotic songs will be sung.
The Prelate, clergy, and Homenetmen members will later gather at “Armenak Der Bedrossian” Hall for a dinner reception hosted by the church Board of Trustees.
On this occasion, the Prelate will present the “St. Mesrob Mashdots” scouting emblem to those scouts who successfully completed the course over the past few months.
