ANNUAL MEMORIAL DEDICATED TO HRANT DINK
On Sunday, January 18, the 8th anniversary of the assassination of Hrant Dink was commemorated with requiem service in the afternoon held at the Armenian Genocide Memorial Monument in Montebello followed by a memorial event in the evening, organized by the Organization of Istanbul Armenians. During the evening’s program, scholar Taner Akcam, a close friend of the slain journalist, was awarded the second annual “Hrant Dink Spirit of Freedom and Justice Medal”. Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian represented the Prelate.

ARMENIAN WOMEN’S COALITION OF LOS ANGELES HOSTS EVENT HONORING THE LEGACY OF ARMENIAN WOMEN POST-GENOCIDE
On Saturday, January 17, the Armenian Women’s Coalition of Los Angeles held an event at Woodbury University titled “The Resilient Woman: Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future”. The Coalition is comprised of thirteen women’s organizations, among them the Western Prelacy Ladies Auxiliary.
The day-long event featured panel discussions on the topics “Armenian women’s leadership and service in the post-Genocide period and during national regeneration” and “Exploring new avenues of Diaspora survival”, as well as storytelling, dance, art expressions, photo exhibitions, costumes, and artifacts. On behalf of the Prelate, Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian attended and delivered the opening prayer. Ladies Auxiliary members also participated.
