PRELATE REPRESENTED AT UCLA HEALTH RECEPTION HONORING SALPI AKARAGIAN

SalpiAkaragian1On Monday, January 27, a reception was held at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in honor of nurse Salpi Akaragian, who in 2013 received the Nursing Excellence National GEM Award for Volunteerism and Service.  Ms. Akaragian currently serves as Director of International and Nurse Credentialing at UCLA Health.

Rev. Fr. Karekin Bedourian attended and conveyed the Prelate’s blessings and well wishes.  Executive Council member Dr. Navasart Kazazian was also in attendance.

RETIREMENT RECEPTION FOR SHERIFF LEE BACA

SheriffBacaEvent2On Wednesday, January 29, a retirement reception was held for L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca, honoring his 48 years of public service.  The event was held at Brandview Ballroom in Glendale.  Rev. Fr. Vazken Atmajian attended and conveyed the Prelate’s blessings and well wishes to Sheriff Baca.

In a letter to Sheriff Baca, the Prelate commended the Sheriff’s strong leadership, hard work, and dedication, which has brought many positive changes throughout the county of Los Angeles.  He conveyed appreciation and gratitude to all law enforcement officials and public servants who serve and protect our communities and fellow citizens, thanked the Sheriff for his friendship and collaboration during his tenure, and wished him well in the next phase of his life.

OPENING OF ARMENIAN MISSIONARY ASSOCIATION
WEST COAST OFFICE

On Saturday, January 25, the official  opening of the Armenian Missionary Association of America West Coast office was held, presided over by Rev. Joe Matossian.  The office was established recently under the leadership of Levon Filian, who will serve as West Coast Executive Director.  Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian and Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian represented the Prelate.
