PRELATE TO PRESIDE OVER DIVINE LITURGY
AT HOLY MARTYRS CHURCH
– REQUIEM FOR THE LISBON 5 MARTYRS
Saturday, July 27, 2013 is the 30th anniversary of the martyrdom of the Lisbon 5. By the request of the Lisbon 5 commemoration committee and the ordinance of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, on Sunday, July 28, requiem prayers will be offered in Prelacy Churches for the souls of Simon, Sako, Vatche, Setrag, and Ara, who sacrificed their lives for the Armenian cause. Pastors will read the Prelate’s message on this occasion.
The Prelate will preside over Divine Liturgy and requiem service at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino, where he will also deliver the sermon.
A community-wide commemoration of the Lisbon 5 will be held on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at “Avedissian” Hall in Encino.

JEFF TANIELIAN
With deep sorrow we announce the untimely passing of Jeff Tanielian, Vice-Chairman of Holy Trinity Church Board of Trustees. On Thursday, July 25, the Prelate traveled to Fresno where on Friday morning he conducted the funeral service and delivered the eulogy.
The Prelate remembered Jeff as a devoted husband, nurturing father, loving son, dear friend, a man of faith and a devoted servant of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

“He was an all around good man who was dearly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him”, stated the Prelate, adding that it is a great loss for his family and also for the community.
Jeff was a faithful parishioner and active member of Holy Trinity Church of Fresno, serving for many years as Board of Trustees Chair and Vice-Chair, Men’s Society member, and in other capacities.

He tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident on July 18 at the age of 57.
