PRELATE TO PRESIDE OVER DIVINE LITURGY AT
HOLY
MARTYRS CHURCH IN ENCINO

On Sunday June 17th, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will preside over Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at Holy Martyr’s Church in Encino.

HOLY MASS AT THE CORONA – RIVERSIDE COUNTY PARISH

On Sunday June 17th, Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the Coptic St. Abanoub and St. Anthony Church in Corona for the Corona-Riverside Parish. Holy Mass will be celebrated by St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church pastor Rev. Fr. Gomidas Torossian, who will also convey the daily sermon.

CONFERENCE FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS AND DEACONS

On the evening of Wednesday, June 13, a conference for Sunday School teachers and deacons was held at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale, under the auspices of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate.  Clergy members also participated, as well as Executive Council member Mrs. Ani Mgrdichian-Garikian and over 75 teachers and deacons.

The event was opened by a collective prayer and welcoming remarks by Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian. The main purpose of the meeting was to create a forum for the servers of our churches to interact together, learn the basic structure of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, Church traditions, Prelacy Structure and By-laws, considering that there are always new comers into the fields of Prelacy services.

Archpriest Vicken Vasillian delivered a speech addressing the aforementioned issues and highlighting the Structure, By-laws, and the fields of cooperation between the Prelacy and the Catholicosate. He also stressed on identifying the foundation and mission of the Western Prelacy and concluded by underscoring that the work done by the Sunday school teachers and deacons are blessed.

The Prelate on his part elaborated on certain details regarding the electoral processes and the function of the legislative and executive system.

The second part of the conference was a question-answer session, giving the chance to the participants to forward their thoughts and concerns. H.E. the Prelate and Religious Council members addressed the questions. The Prelate also announced that the  “Lousavirich” choir has started its preparation for a concert under the leadership of Rev. Father Ghevont Kirazian and called for a wider participation.

At the end of the conference, the Prelate once again blessed the Sunday school teachers and deacons, commended their will to serve God and praised the elder generation in guiding and advising the younger generations. The conference was concluded by the Prelate’s prayer. The attendees received copies of the DVD of the “Lousavirich” choir’s latest concert as a gift.

DAILY AND SUNDAY SCHOOLS YEAR END CEREMONIES

On Sunday June 17th, following Divine Liturgy at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood, the year-end program of the church’s Sunday school will take place at “Karapetian” hall.

On the same day, at 4 pm, the Ferrahian High School 12th grade graduation will take place at “Avedissian” hall. The 12th, 8th and 5th grade graduations of Mesrobian School will be held at the school courtyard, and the Kindergarten ceremony will be held at the Montebello Armenian Center.

On Tuesday, June 12th, the graduation ceremony for the 6th grade students of Ari Guiragos Minassian School was held at “Gugasian” hall in Orange County. Alongside the Prelate, in attendance were members of the Western Prelacy Executive Council including Chairlady Mrs. Rima Boghossian, Forty Martyr’s Armenian Apostolic Church Pastor Rev. Fr. Hrant Yeretzian and members of the Board of Trustees, Teachers and family members.

Following the St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church Divine Liturgy on Sunday June 10th, the Sunday school’s year-end graduation event took place in the “Krikor and Mariam Karamanoukian” youth center in Glendale.

On the same day, Montebello’s Holy Cross Cathedral’s Sunday school had its year-end celebrations at “Toumajian” hall.

And on Monday, June 18th, the graduation ceremony for the 6th and 8th grade students of the Vahan and Anoush Chamlian School, will take place at the Glendale High school auditorium.

All of the celebrations are held under the auspices of the Prelate, who attends these events personally or through representatives.

DAVIDIAN-MARIAMIAN YEAR END EVENT

The Davidianian-Mariamian Educational Foundation has organized yearend program for the students that participate in the Armenian programs in Public Schools.

On Saturday June 16th, in the Pacific Community Center, celebrations will take place for the Armenian graduates of this program. Rev. Fr. Gomidas Torossian will be present during the celebration representing the Prelate.
