On Saturday, October 8, 2016, the Armenian Apostolic Church will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Translators, one of our greatest national and religious feasts. The Feast is a celebration of the invention of the Armenian alphabet and the subsequent birth of our culture through the work of a host of translators.
This weekend, St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of San Francisco will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its establishment and consecration.
On this occasion, on Sunday, October 9, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at St. Gregory Church. A cultural program will follow.
On Saturday evening, the Prelate will preside over the 50th anniversary banquet at “Saroyan” Hall of the Khatchatourian Armenian Community Center organized by the parish Pastor, Board of Trustees, Ladies Auxiliary, and 50th anniversary committee, during which community benefactors Henry and Rita Khachaturian and Jirair and Serpoug Sarkissian will be honored.
