EPISCOPAL DIVINE LITURGY AND BLESSING OF MADAGH ON
THE FEAST OF THE EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS
– DAY OF PRAYER FOR SYRIA
On Sunday, September 15, 2013, the Armenian Church celebrates the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. This feast is also the name-day of Holy Cross Cathedral in Montebello.
On this occasion, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will celebrate Divine Liturgy, deliver the sermon, and conduct the blessing of madagh and basil at Holy Cross Cathedral.
As reported last week, upon the wish expressed by the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund at their last meeting, by the decision of the spiritual leaders of the local Armenian Apostolic, Catholic, and Evangelical Churches, Sunday, September 15 has been designated Day of Prayer for Syria. By the ordinance of the Prelate, “Der Voghormya” prayers will be offered in all Prelacy Churches for the safety and peace of the Syrian people and the Syrian-Armenian community.
The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross will be celebrated in the Colorado and Corona parishes as well. Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian will conduct services in Colorado, and Archpriest Fr. Hrant Yeretzian will conduct services in Corona.
By the ordinance of the Prelate, Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at the North Hollywood parish. By the request of the Mousa Ler Compatriotic Union, Rev. Fr. Dajad Ashekian will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at Camp Arev.
