EPISCOPAL DIVINE LITURGY AND BLESSING OF MADAGH ON THE FEAST OF THE EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS
On Sunday, September 17, 2017, the Armenian Church will celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which is also the name-day of Holy Cross Cathedral in Montebello.
On this occasion, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at Holy Cross Cathedral. Afterward, the Prelate will conduct the blessing of madagh at “Baghramian” Hall, which will be followed by a luncheon hosted by the parish Ladies Aid.
Very Rev. Fr. Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, will celebrate Divine Liturgy at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood, and Very Rev. Fr. Vache Balekjian at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale.
COMMENCEMENT OF SUNDAY SCHOOLS
The feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross also marks the commencement of Sunday Schools. Thus, on this day, Sunday School teachers and students will participate in Divine Liturgy at their local churches and will receive Holy Communion to begin the new year with blessings and prayers.
We urge our parents to send their children to Sunday School so that their minds and spirits can be enriched with our religious and national treasures.
