H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, clergy, Religious and Executive Councils, and the parish community of St. Garabed Church of Las Vegas mourn the loss of benefactor Larry Barnes, who passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015.
Larry Barnes was the main benefactor of St. Garabed Church and Cultural Center of Las Vegas. Over the last few years he made incredibly generous contributions toward the construction project, in memory of his beloved late wife Seda Der Garabedian-Barnes as well as members of her family who perished in the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Thus, St. Garabed Church stands as a memorial for the Der Garabedian family of Van and for all our martyrs.
Mr. Barnes gave without the expectation of accolades or recognition, in the true sense of Christian charity. In 2010 he was awarded the “Knight of Cilicia” insignia by His Holiness Aram I for his spirit of generosity and valuable contributions to our church. His legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in all of our hearts.
The funeral service will be held at St. Garabed Church of Las Vegas on Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m.
