In Defense of Christians, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for Christian communities in the Middle East, has organized a National Advocacy Convention which will be held in Washington, D.C., from September 7-9. The Armenian National Committee of America will serve as a major sponsor of the convention, which will focus on raising public awareness and encouraging American policy makers to give greater attention to the plight of Christianity in the Middle East, especially in Iraq and Syria, as well is Egypt and Lebanon.
The convention is expected to draw members of Congress and political leaders, policy experts, human rights activists, and members of the Middle East Christian Diaspora and diverse Christian communities. The convention will also feature an Ecumenical prayer service bringing together religious leaders from the Eastern and Western churches to pray in solidarity for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East.
The Prelate has been invited to participate in the convention. Leaders and members of the Armenian-American community are expected to participate. Those interested can get more information by clicking the link below.
